While Cali kids probably think there's nothing better than Venice or Hermosa beach, I'm here to tell you that there's an entire land down under with something to say about that.

They don't call it the Gold Coast for nothing, and you can't get away with a name like Surfer's Paradise without backing it up. So Cal in the '70s was a great spot, but here are 25 photos from the same time in Australia that more than compare.
